SPORT AT WAINUIOMATA INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

At Wainuiomata Intermediate we participate in and achieve highly at a
wide range of sports.

Our school takes a full part in inter-intermediate competitions playing 3 or 4 different sports a term against all other Intermediate schools in the
Wellington region from Masterton to Levin.

The ability to get regular high-level competition and exposure has allowed students to be picked for regional and national teams.

Our school punches above its weight and currently holds several regional titles.

Our school also has; netball, touch rugby, badminton, and basketball
teams competing outside of school hours, offering further opportunity and exposure.

We will again in 2025 send teams to the AIMS games, a National
Intermediate school competition with 11,000 competitors from 320
intermediates competing across 22 sports.
This is a world recognised competition attracting international talent scouts.

We are previous National Champions.

We also have fun events and interclass competitions giving every student a sporting experience and opportunity to discover a new interest or ability.
